Indica Pictures Commissions 3 Films On Indian Classical Dance
As part of its commitment to Indian classical arts and culture Indica Pictures has commissioned Bangalore-based Bharatanatyam danseuse and artistic Director of Raadha Kalpa Dance Company, Rukmini Vijayakumar, for three dance films on Ayurveda, Classical Knowledge and Spirituality.
HYDERABAD, India, Oct. 5, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- As part of its commitment to Indian classical arts and culture Indica Pictures has commissioned Bangalore-based Bharatanatyam danseuse and artistic Director of Raadha Kalpa Dance Company, Rukmini Vijayakumar, for three dance films on Ayurveda, Classical Knowledge and Spirituality. Rukmini Vijayakumar is well-known and has performed all over the world, including the Jacobs Pillow, The Drive East Festival, LaMama Theater NYC, Korzo Theater, amongst numerous other venues. Indica Pictures earlier worked with Rukmini and produced two videos celebrating Yoga, both of which garnered a million+ views each and resonated with audiences around the world. Commenting on the assignment, Rukmini Vijayakumar said "As an artist, it is important to find support and avenues for expression. Indic Film Utsav, a cinematic celebration of India, also announced winners of its One Minute Promo Challenge, a curtain raiser event to the upcoming Indic Film Utsav, that was launched on 15th August 2020. After more than ~150 registrations, and 30+ submissions from small towns all across India, a panel of judges reviewed each and every submission and announced winners of the contest. The first prize went to Kshitiz Rai for his Rebuilding the Indian Narrative promo. Second prize went to Amir Pallikal while Yogesh Kumar won the third prize. Devansh Mathur's entry received a special mention.
