James Scott Farrin Sponsors Durham Running of the Bulls 8K for Seventh Year
The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin is again a banner sponsor of the Durham Running of the Bulls 8K in downtown Durham, Saturday, June 1st at the Durham Athletic Park.
DURHAM, N.C., May 23, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin will be a primary sponsor of the 11th annual Running of the Bulls 8K community road race in downtown Durham, Saturday, June 1st at the Durham Athletic Park. This is the seventh consecutive year the law firm has sponsored the race.
This official USA Track & Field 8K Championship race has grown in number each year, attracting nearly 1,500 elite and recreational runners in 2018. This year, many James Scott Farrin employees will not only run in the event, but some will also man water station #2 handing out water, cheering on runners, and taking photos, which will appear on the law firm's Facebook page.
Fun and fitness is part of the James Scott Farrin culture. A few years ago, the firm organized a "Farrin Fit" club. To help motivate and inspire employees who desired to become more mindful of their health and fitness, the firm donated an allowance toward Fitbits for all employees who wanted them. Throughout each year, the firm also sponsors free "Lunch and Learns" inviting experts to speak on areas of health, nutrition, general wellbeing, and physical fitness.

Race directors and owners of Bull City Running Co., Jason Page and Kim Chapman, created the race 11 years ago, and every year event proceeds have gone to a local non-profit. The couple's passion for running and for downtown Durham's historic architecture and history prompted them to initiate this event so others might come together and appreciate it too. The scenic 8-kilometer (4.97-mile) route will wind through the historic and revitalized neighborhoods of downtown Durham, American Tobacco Campus, Trinity Park, and Old North Durham neighborhoods, and finish with a lap of the warning track inside the historic Old Durham Athletic Park.
