MGO Announces the Launch of Its “Jeans for Water” Charity Initiative
Beachwood, OH (PRWEB) June 18, 2014 -- MGO, a leading retirement, investment, and asset management firm base out of Beachwood announces the launch of its charity initiative, “Jeans for Water.” The campaign is designed to support Drop in the Bucket, an organization designed to provide water wells and sanitized water for youth in sub-Saharan Africa to break the cycle of poverty.
MGO employees who desire to wear jeans to the office will donate $2 per day, approximately $30 per month, or $300 for the rest of the year. By the year’s end MGO plans to match all employee donations, which they hope to meet and exceed the total of $3,000. If MGO employees reach the goal of $3,000 and another $3,000 is matched by MGO, the company will be able to provide for the costs of drilling one well, distributing water to more than 1,000 people.
“We take for granted how easily it is to access water, especially in the United States. According to Drop in the Bucket, roughly 4,500 children die every day from lack of clean water. We need water to survive, and we forget that many don’t have the luxury of choosing among regular water, tap water, sparkling water, vitamin water, or coconut water over a meal. Instead, youth and many women living in the villages of South Sudan often walk more than six miles per day, just to obtain water in general and to ensure their livelihood,” stated Ron Gross, CEO of MGO, Inc.
