Solar Panel Installation at Marian Installs Solar Panels at Their Locations in Indianapolis, IN, and Monticello, IN
One of Marian's environmental sustainability initiatives is the continued investment in renewable energy sources. In 2020, Marian Suzhou installed 1,804 solar panels on the roof of their building. The solar panels at Marian Suzhou have been generating solar power for their facility for the past two years. Marian Suzhou is proud of the positive impact that this is having on the environment and on their community.
Marian is expanding this investment in renewable energy in North America. Marian has recently finished two more projects to add solar power to their buildings in Indianapolis, IN and Monticello, IN. In the spring of 2022, Marian in Indianapolis, IN added 527 solar panels, maxing out the space on the roof of their building. It is projected that these solar panels can produce up to 200kW of power.
Simultaneous to the Indianapolis project, Marian added 1,417 solar panels across the space on the roof of their building in Monticello, IN. It is projected that these solar panels can produce up to 650kW of power. The system in Monticello went live on Monday, June 27, 2022. As of Monday afternoon, the solar power system was producing enough power to run the entire plant and push more power back to the NIPSCO power grid.
"As a global organization, Marian is dedicated to refining our operating methods in order to protect and preserve the environment," said Marian President, William Witchger. "We chose to invest in solar energy in order to reduce our environmental footprint and lower energy costs. Contributing to a cleaner environment is directly in line with our company culture of continuous improvement. I am excited to announce the completion of these solar projects and look forward to continuing to improve in the area of environmental sustainability."
For the Indianapolis and Monticello projects, Marian worked with solar panel supplier, Huston Electric. They were a valuable partner in this endeavor. Additionally, Marian's staff of buildings, grounds, and property professionals, along with our department of full-time electrical and controls engineers guided the design and installation of these projects from start to finish. They will continue to oversee the continued benefits of renewable energy production.
