MaxxCAT Extends Educational Buyers Program, Bringing Search and Service to Educational Institutions
Pittsburgh (PRWEB) September 24, 2013 -- Leading search appliance provider MaxxCAT has extended their program designed to bring the benefits of high-performance enterprise search to budget-conscious and resource-strapped colleges, universities, school systems and other qualified educational buyers.
Originally slated to end in September, the Educational Buyers Program has been extended through the end of the year. The popular program combines either MaxxCAT’s popular EX-5000 enterprise search appliance or the recently introduced SB-350 search appliance with integration services and extended support.
“We started the program to see if it was something that would interest our customers,” said Jim Jackson, Manager of the EX-5000 search appliance products at MaxxCAT. “The response, particularly from universities, was extremely positive. This is especially true as more users come to the end of life for their Google Minis. Our search appliances are seen as an affordable alternative to other Google Mini replacements and integration services makes it an easy transition.”
The Educational Buyers Program offers two options: The $3,995 SB-350 features a 500GB index storage size and is capable of handling 5,000 executed Queries Per Minute. Built for more demanding environments, the EX-5000 starts with 2x1TB of index storage (mirrored) and can handle 12,500 execute Queries Per Minute. The EX-5000 starts at $8,995.
While MaxxCAT search appliances are developed with ease of integration in mind, it’s not always practical to devote internal resources to configuring new hardware. MaxxCAT includes three hours of Integration Services with each appliance purchased under the Education Buyers Program to help with a transition or customizing the implementation. The Integration Services Group provides top-level service from the experts who design and build MaxxCAT's appliances, and three hours is typically enough time to implement a search.
Education buyers also receive an additional year of email support plus software updates, for a total of two years. This is in addition to the one-year hardware warranty.
The Educational Buyers Program will be available through the end of 2013. For more information visit http://www.maxxcat.com/education MaxxCAT also continues to offer a similar program from Nonprofit organizations. More details are available at http://www.maxxcat.com/npo-buyers-program.html.
