Berg announces the immediate availability of the Magnaflux Y-2 yoke, the next generation of Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) tools, for non-destructive testing in detecting surface and shallow subsurface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials.
The Y-2 is a lightweight, heavy duty, AC electromagnetic yoke which produces strong magnetic fields for the detection of surface indications during MPI. At only 4.8 pounds, compared to over 7 pounds for competing products, the Y-2 improves operator productivity with a new ergonomic design that reduces arm strain and wrist fatigue. The O-ring sealed housing meets IP54 enclosure rating, which ensures no damage from dust and water. The trigger switch and power cord are field-replaceable.
