Minnesota Green Roofs Council Taps David Aquilina, Strategic Storyteller, for Communications Consulting

The Minnesota Green Roofs Council (MGRC) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing green roofs as a building strategy in Minnesota. A green roof is a supplemental roofing system that covers a conventional, structural roof with a layer of vegetation. They moderate the urban heat-island effect and improve air quality by sequestering carbon dioxide, releasing oxygen, and filtering airborne particulates. They create valuable green space and habitat in the built environment. Green roofs shade and insulate rooftops to improve buildings’ thermal performance and reduce energy use and costs. They also extend the service life of structural roof systems by shielding roofing components from ultraviolet radiation and temperature extremes and protecting them against damage from airborne debris.
