Pix Mini, the First Smart Backpack Developed to Light up Kids' Lives, Launches on Kickstarter
After creating a popular version for adults last year, Pix Inc. introduces a smart backpack for kids with a focus on a 'sharing with your friends' feature, using a built-in LED display that can be controlled from any iOS/Android smartphone device, along with a companion app that lets kids create and display drawings and animations and play puzzles with their friends - all while providing bright illumination for night safety
WALNUT, Calif., June 4, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Pix Mini, the first digital smart backpack designed for kids with a fun 'sharing with your friends' feature and promotes their creativity while offering an additional safety feature at night, is now available on Kickstarter.
The Pix Mini Smart Backpack features a built-in LED display that is controlled from any iOS/Android smartphone device. With the help of the companion app, children can express themselves by creating their own designs and animations to display on their backpacks.
"We know how important it is for kids to develop their social and logical skills with fun, and the Pix Mini is designed to help kids stay creative and happy during the day," said Pix Inc. CEO Margaret Rimek. "Pix Mini allows them to draw right on their backpack through an integrated in-app image editor, which they can use to create animations and display them on the ambient screen of the backpack."
Kids can make adjustments on the app, using boxes that correspond to specific pixels to allow quick and easy color and design changes.
"They can make up their own pixel art and display their creativity…and share it with their friends, too," Rimek said. "In addition, they can play puzzle games with friends, which furthers the socialization process by encouraging interaction while they share their creations."
Rimek notes Pix Mini is also a bright and highly visible backpack, which ensures kids can be easily seen and stay safe during dark early morning and nighttime hours.
Pix Inc. CMO Segii lezdin says the Pix Mini was developed based on feedback the company received for its first product, Pix Backpack -- an urban-style backpack with a built-in programmable screen made for adults that raised more than $330,000 through crowdfunding on Kickstarter and Indiegogo last year.
"The adult version was an absolute game changer in the backpack industry, receiving great feedback from customers and reviewers on leading tech sites and blogs," lezdin said. "However, many backers continuously asked for the same kind of backpack but designed especially for kids…so that's how the Pix Mini came to be."
While it is a smart backpack, battery-powered, app-controlled and featuring Bluetooth connectivity, it is made with children in mind. Pix Mini is smaller than the adult version so it's easy for kids to carry. It is lightweight, weighing only 1.8 pounds/800 grams empty, and has a volume of 15 liters to provide a practical size so kids have room for every school essential.
"While the Pix Mini has a trendy design that will let your child show off their own personal style and confidence on every single walk to school, it's most important role is offering brain-stimulating games designed to test the memory and cognitive capabilities of any child," Rimek said. "With the ability to display different images, animations and puzzle games, Pix Mini allows kids to have fun on their way to and from school or during free time. The only limit to what kids can do with Pix Mini is their imagination."
