Blackstone Rivers Ranch Lays Foundation for Potentially Booming Multipurpose Venue

The Blackstone Rivers Ranch location near Idaho Springs enables those wanting to host an upscale mountain event to forego the expense and long drive to the ski resorts on the western slope, which is why its primary focus is on high-end riverfront weddings and private parties. However, Blackstone Rivers Ranch will also host wine and food tastings, leadership and survival camps for children and adults, fitness and wellness retreats, outdoor and wilderness sport experiences, family reunions and business conferences.
Additionally, its natural amphitheater, built among the aspens and pines above the venue, will feature music events and concerts, plays and other exhibitions. “Our amphitheater will be an eclectic arts venue with quality entertainment that is ideal for people who prefer the intimacy of a smaller crowd,” said Betz.
Once its entertainment and event phase is complete, Blackstone Rivers Ranch will proceed with construction of a boutique creekside hotel with approximately eighteen finely appointed, luxurious guest rooms. The owners anticipate this second phase is two to three years away, and three to four years for the already-approved-by-the-city boutique creekside spa and fitness center.
“Idaho Springs is perfectly poised for a second ‘gold rush’ of sorts, as millions of dollars have been earmarked for infrastructure improvements and plans are in process to re-energize both its historic Old Town and the broader city,” said Betz. “A group of investors are currently analyzing the Argo Mill and Mine for redevelopment in town.
