LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (PRWEB) February 20, 2020 -- Registration is now open for the 30th Annual Case Management Society of America (CMSA) Conference & Expo, taking place in the beautiful city of Boston, MA. From June 28-July 2, 2020, case managers from across the globe will gather to celebrate “30 years of Care Transitions Across the Full Continuum,” while experiencing an educational and networking event designed exclusively for them.
For 30 years the CMSA conference has provided educational content that not only helps case managers with new strategies and solutions, but also provides tools to help them to grow and succeed in their careers. This year’s concurrent sessions, poster presentations and symposia give attendees the opportunity to learn and share best practices. With eight key practice setting tracks including acute care, workers’ compensation, discipline specific case management, long term care services, leadership, legal/regulatory, population health and managed care, sessions explore ways to make an impact while improving outcomes across the entire continuum.
“It is only fitting that we have our 30th Annual CMSA Conference & Expo in Boston. In 1773, the Boston Tea Party demonstrated the power of political advocacy and the voice of the people. CMSA has a long history of advocating for at-risk and vulnerable populations. This year’s conference is a great opportunity to learn and grow as a professional case manager. It also is a time to celebrate our accomplishments!” remarked Jose Alejandro, CMSA President.
Kicking off the week are three special events. The first is Military/VA/DoD Day, open to active military and veteran, Veterans Administration and Department of Defense case managers. This year’s keynote speaker is Herschel Walker, the 1982 Heisman Trophy winner, NFL star and spokesman for The Patriot Support Program. He shares his personal experience with mental illness and treatment; also, he discusses the Program, which encourages service members to ask for help for mental health and substance abuse issues. Second, returning this year is the ever popular face-to-face, two-day Integrated Case Management Course, for Case Managers by Case Managers (pre course online training required as part of the separate ICM registration fee). Finally, the two-day Certification 360 preconference training course, provided by CCMC, prepares case managers for certification. Attendees of these special events receive a discount on full conference attendance.
This year there are 5 additional pre-conference sessions included in conference registration, exploring new areas of focus such as hospice and palliative care. In addition, CMSA is cognizant of the health and well-being of case managers; during conference week, the conference offers a pre-conference session focused on stretching in the workplace and, during the three main conference days, offers daily morning yoga classes with a registered instructor. Four unique post conference sessions round out an exciting week, including the 2020 CMAG launch, animal therapy and the ever-popular public policy forum.
The 2020 event expects to welcome over 2,500 healthcare professionals to the conference. Over 250 companies will welcome attendees at CMSA’s 2020 Expo, providing information and demonstrations regarding the most current products and services. Attendees will accrue new resources and connections to enable recommendations and implementation of the latest technologies. Again, this year in the exhibit hall, CMSA will present “Passport to Prizes.” During expo hall hours, attendees have two opportunities to win a fabulous trip for two, while learning how both their patients and their own lives can be improved with the services our exhibitors offer.
Alton White kicks off the week-long celebration as the opening keynote. Captivating audiences everywhere, this triple talented singer, actor and dancer has starred in six smash Broadway hits and is most known as his role in “The Lion King” as King Mufasa. His starring role at the conference focuses on inspiring the attendees with tactics to employ in their practice. Sarita Maybin, main session keynote, is an international speaker, communication expert, and author. She teaches audiences how to stay positive and confront tough communication situations while having fun. Closing out the week is Mark Kemp, aka Marvelless Mark. An international speaker, author and entertainment guru, he entertains while providing new strategies, tactics and tools for creating immediate rock star results.
CMSA Executive Director, Kathleen Fraser, remarked, “Every summer our conference offers case managers a mid-year check-in on their careers – an opportunity to connect with colleagues, access timely clinical updates and be exposed to new resources. On our 30th anniversary, we’ll celebrate how far case management has come and look to the future to see what’s possible to achieve, together.”
CMSA, the oldest and largest case management membership organization in the world, continues to forge the future for this rapidly expanding healthcare profession. Through educational content, resources, exhibits, technology, public policy and peer-to-peer networking, attendees can create a custom experience that meets their specialized professional needs.
Early bird pricing is available until April 1st, and all full conference registrants receive a complimentary 1-year membership to CMSA.* Learn more and register for CMSA’s 30th Annual Conference and Expo at https://conference.cmsa.org/.
