Realtor® Ginny Stopa Shares What to Look for in Realtors®
Daphne, AL (PRWEB) February 18, 2016 -- “It is imperative to find the right Realtor® who will dedicate themselves to helping you with one of the biggest decisions of your life: buying a home,” said RE/MAX By The Bay Realtor® Ginny Stopa. “If you have good relationships with the people in this business, you can overcome most obstacles that may arise during the transaction.”
Because Stopa, who has more than twenty years’ experience in real estate, is familiar with the mistakes people often make when choosing someone to help them buy a house, she shares the following five tips to help buyers find a Realtor® that will be the best fit.
No. 1: Find a full-time Realtor®. There are those who work part-time as Realtors® and have another full-time job. Flexibility of scheduling will be a problem if this is the case. “You want someone who will be available when you are and who won’t be at their “real” job if problems arise during the transaction.,” said Stopa.
No. 2: Look for someone with experience. Even if the Realtor® does not have years of experience personally, they can be part of an organization that has many years in the business and has cultivated professional relationships and expertise.
No. 3: Hire a Realtor® that knows the market. “You need someone local to the area in which you are looking to buy,” said Stopa. “In Baldwin County, for example, Gulf Shores and the Eastern Shore are two different, unique markets. You need someone who is very familiar with the market and is part of that community.”
No. 4: Determine if they are a Realtor® or a real estate agent. Real estate agents are merely licensed by the state, whereas Realtors® belong to the National Association of Realtors® and must abide by their code of ethics. There is more accountability for Realtors®.
No. 5: Know how many homes a Realtor® has sold in the last year. Realtors® who are selling two to four homes per month are on the right track, stresses Stopa, and you want someone who is active and selling properties.
“If you use these tips as your guide to finding a Realtor®, you should be better able to navigate this often stressful process with greater ease and assurance,” said Stopa. “When you have the right Realtor®,buying a home can be a joy.”
