Smile Brands Inc. Wins Communitas Award for Second Year
Communitas recognizes Smile Brands Inc. employees for excellence in skills-based community service.
IRVINE, Calif, Dec. 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Smile Brands Inc., one of the largest Dental Support Organizations in the U.S., was recently awarded the 2019 Communitas Award for their Excellence in Skills-Based Community Service. The award honors Smile Brands employees' commitment to community service and global social responsibility. This is the second year in a row that Smile Brands has been honored with a Communitas Award for Excellence.
Smile Brands partners with the Smiles for Everyone Foundation to give back to local communities through pro-bono dental work. The Smiles for Everyone Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that shares Smile Brands' mission of delivering Smiles for Everyone®, by providing free dental care to those in need both at home in the U.S. and around the world. Over 1000 Smile Brands team members have volunteered at the Foundation-sponsored events in 2019.
Since 2011, Smile Brands affiliated volunteers have delivered over 26,000 smiles and provided $19 million in donated dentistry both domestically and abroad. The Foundation sponsors Community Smile Projects, including one-day free clinics in Smile Brands affiliated locations and Smile Makeovers, which are full mouth restorations for needy patients. They also sponsor International Smile Projects with outposts in Cambodia, Ghana, Laos, Nicaragua, Paraguay and Thailand. In 2019 the Foundation also launched a new program, called Implanting Inspiration, which provides free dental implants to select individuals in need.
