Key Organizations in Washington to Host Employer Symposium, an Inland Northwest Hiring Heroes Event
Spokane, Washington (PRWEB) March 16, 2017 -- A group of key organizations, including Army OneSource, the Washington National Guard Joint Services Support and WorkSource Spokane, will host an employer symposium on March 30 from 8:00am – 10:00am at the Washington National Guard Readiness Center. For those who work in the critical areas of employment and transition, it’s an incredible opportunity to gain an understanding of the unique needs of our Military population, explore ways to hire, retain and build a network of support, as well as learn about resume tools available to support transitioning military. The event is free and open to employers. Registration is required. Early reservations are highly recommended as seating is limited.
“Research shows that about half of the separating Post-9/11 Veterans will face a period of unemployment. The goal of the symposium is to bring community employers together to educate, share ideas and provide tools to combat the transition challenges faced by our Service members, their Families and Veterans,” said Angela Traina, Army OneSource Senior State Community Support Coordinator.
Experts from around the state will be on hand to discuss ways to build the State’s capacity to support transitioning Military. Some topics include:
• Best practices on Veteran recruiting, hiring and retention
• How to become a YESVET partner
• Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and how to get involved
• Tools to translate Military jobs to civilian equivalent
