The 2019 Oddero Langhe Rosato Marks The First Wine Released By United Vines.
NEW YORK, July 22, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- United Vines, a new project founded by Eli and Jake Rallo, partnered with Isabella Oddero of Piemonte, Italy, to produce a wine that raises money for social justice charities. The idea behind United Vines is to use society's love for wine to bring people together to fight for equality for all. The proceeds of every purchased bottle of United Vines will go to a charitable foundation at the heart of a specific humanitarian cause.
United Vines CEO Eli Rallo, along with her brother Jake, grew up in the restaurant business. Their father, noted New Jersey restaurateur Vic Rallo, owns Undici in Rumson, NJ; Birravino in Red Bank, NJ; and Esca in New York City among several other restaurants. Eli is a graduate of the University of Michigan and will be attending Columbia University to complete her Masters in Journalism in the Fall. Jake is currently attending Cornell University and has a strong belief that the world's future lies with conducting productive spaces in the realm of hospitality; he is honored to combine his passions for food and beverage with serving others. The passion Jake and Eli have for Italian wine, hospitality, and social justice led them to create United Vines.
"I have been interested in the way we can help prioritize good Italian wine, while teaching millennial drinkers to appreciate the wines and also give back," comments United Vines Founder Eli Rallo. "We will be donating the funds from the sale of the Oddero Langhe Rosato to the ACLU and Donne in Rete in order to help promote women's rights."
United Vines Langhe DOC Rosato, 2019 is 75% Nebbiolo and 25% Barbera. It is cultivated from parcels of the Oddero family vineyards in the village of La Morra, Italy, in the heart of the Barolo DOCG. The 2019 vintage in Barolo has demonstrated a classic vintage showing good structure and ideal balance. Bottles of United Vines Langhe DOC Rosato 2019 are available exclusively at Birravino in Red Bank, New Jersey, and Undici in Rumson, New Jersey. The inaugural vintage was a limited release and is expected to sell out soon. Plans for broader distribution with future vintages are in the works.
The 2019 vintage will raise $10,000 for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in the United States to focus on equal rights for women across the world.
