‘ID8 Nation’ Tells the Research Triangle’s Story of Entrepreneurship
Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) January 23, 2014 -- In content released today, ID8 Nation reports on the unique entrepreneurial landscape that continues to evolve in Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill as part of an in-depth series on the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation’s website, http://www.ID8Nation.com, and the digital magazine.
North Carolina's Research Triangle is striving to become one of the top five entrepreneurial hotspots in the country. Research Triangle Park and three major research universities make it fertile ground for bioscience and software startups, but the area will have to overcome regional rivalries, a lack of density and other obstacles first. ID8 Nation’s Research Triangle issue also looks at how a regional media company is changing the entrepreneurial ecosystem, taking the Durham bull by the horns and investing in the startup community there and in Raleigh. And the magazine considers how North Carolina’s conservative government policies may affect entrepreneurial activities and at how black history continues to affect the startup landscape. All told, 14 feature articles, four national trend columns and five short documentary videos take a deep dive into the fabric of the Research Triangle’s business startup tapestry.
“The Research Triangle Park not only has a vibrant startup community to model, it is facing some challenges that other cities also might relate to,” said Thom Ruhe, vice president of Entrepreneurship at the Kauffman Foundation. “It’s that combination that makes the region so rich with lessons and so relevant to other communities. We hope this compelling coverage sparks a conversation within the Triangle and beyond.”
ID8 Nation, an initiative to create conversation around the unique entrepreneurial environments that exist in cities across America, chose the Research Triangle as its fourth featured city. Seattle, Pittsburgh and San Diego also have been featured, and their coverage can be found at http://www.ID8Nation.com and on the ID8 Nation app. ID8 Nation’s editorial team visited North Carolina in October to meet with influential entrepreneurs, city experts and investors and explored how capital, talent, education, lifestyle, culture and government uniquely affect its ecosystem. Denver will be the next featured issue. ID8 Nation invites nominations on http://www.ID8Nation.com for cities with vibrant entrepreneurial communities for future coverage.
