"Let's Go O's!" Maze Hits a Home Run for Farm Festival's 20th Anniverary
Frederick, Maryland (PRWEB) September 19, 2016 -- When gates open this fall, Summers Farm will celebrate a milestone anniversary with much deserved fanfare. The Frederick farm's fall festival offerings, which started 20 years ago with pumpkin picking and traditional hayrides, center around yet another colossal corn maze which will honor the Baltimore Orioles this year.
Contrived within 12 acres of 9-foot tall corn, the mammoth maze pays homage to a classic team that has cultivated great players over the years, including Cal Ripken, Jr., Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson, Eddie Murray, and one of today’s top players Manny Machado. Maze fans at Summers Farm can opt to take a simpler stroll through the stalks -- or a more challenging adventure filled with ambitious twists and turns.
The Fall Harvest Festival, home of this year’s "Let's Go O's!" maze, grew out of Teresa Summers Greenwood's humble dream that the ag-based business would provide visitors with an opportunity to connect back to nature, create memories, and enjoy the beauty of a real working farm. Over the years, activities like pumpkin picking and hayrides have enticed folks to come back to the foundation of sustenance -- and these strong traditional offerings continue to do so.
Opening September 24, the approaching 20th season proves that visitors return to Summers Farm year after year to enjoy old-fashioned fun with family and friends. The Greenwood family looks forward to welcoming thousands to the farm to enjoy the 30-plus activities including pig races, a giant corn maze, hayrides, jumping pillows, and pick-your-own pumpkins still attached to the vine in the field.
