@properties Converts Old Condominium Into New River North Office
CHICAGO (PRWEB) June 22, 2016 -- @properties, the No. 1 residential real estate brokerage firm in Chicago with nearly 20 percent market share, is continuing its expansion with the opening of a new satellite office in River North.
Located at 301 W. Ohio St., just one block east of the Ohio Street exit ramp from the Kennedy Expressway, the new office will accommodate @properties’ growing agent base while providing a convenient check-in point for brokers as they work throughout the city. This is @properties’ 10th location in the city and 23rd overall. The 1,882-square-foot space includes 15 work stations, a private office and a conference room.
“A handful of brokers will operate full-time from this location, but most will use it in a hoteling capacity stopping in to print listings, drop off contracts or meet with clients,” said Michael Golden, co-founder of @properties.
@properties was the first residential brokerage company in the city to embrace the ‘hoteling’ concept in real estate, favoring smaller offices in strategic locations over large, expensive offices with permanent desk space for dozens of brokers.
“We recognized early on that residential brokerage is a mobile business, and the office setup should cater to the mobile broker,” said @properties co-founder Thad Wong. Besides a convenient location for brokers, the office also provides great visibility for the thousands of cars per day that exit the Kennedy at Ohio Street, noted Wong.
“The advertising potential was not lost on us,” said Wong. “@properties will be one of the first things people see when they get off the expressway. That’s some valuable signage.”
Wong and Golden purchased the office, a commercial condominium, from Fore! Reservations Inc., which operated a tee-time booking service from the space. Colleen Harper of @properties represented the seller in the transaction, while Wong and Golden represented themselves.
