“Pure Brews America” to continue showcasing Michigan craft breweries in second season
Southfield, MI (PRWEB) June 27, 2016 -- Viewers will again be treated to the offerings of Michigan’s best craft breweries (at least vicariously) as “Pure Brews America” kicks off its second season on Saturday, July 9. The show is presented by Meijer, the largest craft beer retailer in the state of Michigan.
The half-hour show will follow the format of its successful first season, with hosts Shannon Long and Ryan Terpstra crisscrossing the state to showcase the quality and variety of products and services available among independent Michigan craft brew specialists. Television industry critics acknowledged the crew for their hard work, as the show received 8 Michigan Emmy nominations for its first season.
The second season’s premier episode will feature Bell’s Brewery in Comstock and Witch’s Hat Brewing Co. in South Lyon. The episode will air at 12:30 PM on the following three stations: WWJ 62 in Detroit; WWTV in Traverse City; and WLNS in Lansing. The show will also run on Sunday, July 10 at 1:00 PM on WWMT in Grand Rapids. Three subsequent episodes will follow the same broadcast schedule through July. After a pause, episodes four through eight will air over the same stations on a weekly basis starting October 1.
The “Pure Brews America” series will introduce viewers to breweries as geographically diverse as Short’s Brewing Company in Bellaire and Motor City Brewing Works in Detroit’s Midtown, focusing on the personalities, processes and unique creativity of independent craft brewers. Along with visits to different breweries, each episode contains a segment that examines a different angle of the craft beer industry. Finally, the world-class HopCat restaurant franchise also features their chefs, who will provide culinary tips and show viewers how to incorporate craft beer into their kitchens.
With more than 200 craft breweries, Michigan ranks 6th in the nation. This season Pure Brews will visit locations that have been operational for decades, as well as brewpubs that have just poured their first pint.
“The response to our first season of ‘Pure Brews America’ was phenomenal,” said Terpstra, wh is also the show’s Executive Producer. “It reflects the groundswell of enthusiasm for craft beers that is truly sweeping the country, and we’re delighted to be the only TV show in Michigan devoted to a cultural force that not only appeals to beer lovers, but also contributes so much to Michigan’s economy.”
