Philadelphia-based InspiriTec Inc. has landed at number 8 on The Philadelphia Inquirer's 2025 Top Workplace rankings, the 10th straight year the company has made the list. InspiriTec provides award-winning Contact Center and IT Help Desk solutions, delivering superior customer service by combining customized technology with affirmative employment of professionals with disabilities, Veterans, and disadvantaged individuals.
PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- For the 10th year in a row, InspiriTec Inc. has landed on this year's Philadelphia Inquirer list of Philadelphia Top Workplaces, coming in at number eight among companies of 500 or more employees.
This is the 20th anniversary for the Top Workplace surveys, distributed in 60 regions nationwide and based on survey responses from more than 30 million employees, who can send responses about their own or other companies. The Exton, Pa.-based company Energage designs the survey and compiles and analyzes responses. Any company with 50 or more employees in the Philadelphia region was eligible to compete. Philadelphia rankings for 2026 were announced in The Inquirer on September 21.
Providing award-winning Contact Center and IT Help Desk solutions to state and federal government agencies, as well as commercial customers, InspiriTec affirmatively employs professionals with disabilities, Veterans, and disadvantaged individuals. CEO and cofounder John Connolly summed up the company credo this way: "If we take good care of our people, they'll take good care of our customers."
Connolly said that those 10 years of award-winning excellence reflect that credo. "It's self-sustaining, viral in the good kind of way," he said. "The energy and spirit are contagious at all levels of the organization. Once you catch them, they spread and sustain themselves."
Princy Mathew is an Assistant Contact Center Manager at the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Consumer Services Center at InspiriTec. Asked why the company had earned such recognition for so long, Mathew said: "It's the spirit of the company. They see you first and foremost as a person, not only as a team member or employee. It's totally different from any other company I have ever known."
Paraplegic and wheelchair-bound after a 2009 spinal cord injury, Mathew was, as she said, "Stressed out and not really believing I could have a work life." Once she connected with InspiriTec, however, "I found I could get off disability, get work, part-time at first, and then go forward. That's the impact of a place like this: they listen to you, find a way to support you, and it lets you do the best work you can. They based my work schedule according to my needs." That included accommodation such as flexible scheduling and workplace technology to help with her duties. The resulting career growth has transformed her life. "I went from part-time to full-time," she said, "and from there it was like an upward graph. I went from customer service representative to trainer, then to supervisor. You can grow with the company and build a career."
Jordan Lazaroff is a Tier 1 Help Desk Agent at the NASA Enterprise Service Desk at InspiriTec. "I like being on the NASA Desk," he said. "InspiriTec is a good company for employees with special needs, and it has really interesting contracts. NASA has been the best project for me." He enjoys helping NASA customers with password questions, lockouts, and hardware support.
Lazaroff suffers from severe repetitive stress injuries and arthritis. He found that InspiriTec readily found accommodations including speech-recognition software so he can deliver his responses vocally and have them transmitted in text to the customer. The company, he said, readily integrated his time for taking medications into his schedule and found him a quiet place to work. "They're really helpful when weather is bad and travel hazardous," he said, "including allowing me to work from home on the infrequent days when I need to." And he has been a standout: he won the UniqueSource Achievement Award in 2019. "I was happy to win it," he said. "I work hard at my job."
In a recent film created as part of the America250 celebrations, an InspiriTec team was captured taking part in the famous Philadelphia Dragon Boat Races – an annual event for the Social Enterprise. In one sequence, the InspiriTec boat powers down the Schuylkill, all hands rowing like pros. CEO Connolly said that, while they didn't win the race, the InspiriTec team were all winners. "Most of the paddlers on that boat are people with disabilities," Connolly remarked. "It's a visual metaphor for our culture. You're not pulling for only yourself; you're pulling for your teammates and the whole company. Mutual support extends beyond work to nonwork activities, be it workplace accommodations to rowing like mad down the Schuylkill together."
