JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Dec. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Smiles were literally given out this holiday season by Done In One, a national dental lab which prides itself on a revolutionary procedure that gives patients a FINAL set of teeth in just 48 hours. This year Done In One came up with a new mission, to make this procedure available for six randomly selected people in need of a full mouth restoration who couldn't otherwise afford treatment through an initiative called the "12 Arches of Christmas".
In 2016, Dr. Daniel Noorthoek, Co-Founder of Done In One, was contacted by a Reddit user who was in pain and suffering around the Christmas holiday. The young man was in desperate need of extractions due to infections. Following the removal of his teeth, Dr. Noorthoek made a promise to this young man that he would eventually have his smile back. Now flash forward to October 2018, during a 5am Conference Call, Dr. Noorthoek expressed that he wanted to finally fulfill a promise he made to this Reddit user Mike. This is when the rest of the team stepped in with the idea; instead of helping One patient let's find Six! This was the moment "12 Arches of Christmas" came to existence.
These six individuals were randomly selected throughout the entire community. Some were found through the internet and some through referrals, but they were all in desperate need of help. Three of them, Patsy, Reggie and Mike agreed to document their experience and spoke all about it.
"The campaign 12 arches of Christmas is very near and dear to my heart", says Dr. Noorthoek. "It gives people a second chance at life and they get to do things they wouldn't be able to otherwise. It's amazing to see the transformation of a person right before your eyes in an unexpected place such as a dentist chair, it's surreal".
This entire campaign was made possible by Dr. Joel David, the founder of David & Associates and co-founder of Done In One. Dr. David had all six patients come to his office to have the procedure done. "We wanted to give back to the community during the Holiday season, and what better way to do that then with a brand-new smile?", says Dr. David.
Now you may ask, what exactly is an arch? Well, the word arch has many different meanings, but in dentistry terms, an arch is considered the upper or lower full set of teeth. Each of our patients received 2 arches each, top and bottom, hence the term "12 Arches of Christmas".
