Hosted by Harvard University's Joslin Diabetes Center and the Asian American Diabetes Initiative (AADI), A Taste of Ginger is a culinary fundraising event dedicated to addressing the disproportionate impact of diabetes among Asian American demographics. Following two years that limited the event to remote attendance, this year's gathering took place at the Cyclorama of the Boston Center for the Arts, featuring offerings from top Boston restaurants amid talks from Dr. George King, MD and the AADI's leadership committee, as well as remarks from Boston's Mayor, Michelle Wu.
"The mission of the AADI is very important to me as I recognize the importance of improving access to health care in our communities and advancing science to improve quality of life, and I am honored to serve as co-chair of this event. By making sure diverse community voices are incorporated into healthcare discussions, the AADI is improving outcomes for Asian American patients with diabetes," Ms. Yee said.
