The merger demonstrates Academy Bank’s continued expansion in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The merger bolsters Academy Bank’s presence in Kansas City’s Northland communities — including Kearney, Liberty, and Gladstone, Mo. — and expands its presence in Bonner Springs, Kan. — to give clients access to 25 Academy Bank locations throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area. The five KCB Bank locations will be officially transitioned to Academy Bank by Monday, Oct. 21.

In addition to Smart ATM and mobile services for both personal and business clients, the merger gives all Academy Bank clients access to 25 locations across the metro are that now include four new branches in Missouri and one in Kansas:

Academy Bank recently opened new retail banking centers in Overland Park, Kan. and in the Crossroads Arts District in Downtown Kansas City, Mo. The bank also plans to open a retail banking center in Lenexa, Kan. next year.
Academy Bank ranked third on the Kansas City Business Journal’s list of the “strongest large banks in 2018.” With this merger, Academy Bank will now have $1.9 billion in assets and 25 branches in the Kansas City region, making it the seventh largest bank in the bi-state metropolitan area.
In addition to opening retail banking centers, Academy Bank is expanding Academy Express —its innovative Drive-Thru Video Banking and ATM service — throughout the Kansas City metro.
