ACPU Announces a New Corporate Membership Class and a Strategic Partnership With HealthCarePoint
San Antonio, Texas (PRWEB) October 22, 2013 -- During the opening session of the Association of Clinical Pharmacology Units (ACPU) annual meeting today, Donna Dorozinsky, ACPU president, announced the creation of a new corporate membership class. For the first time, Clinical Pharmacology Units (CPUs) can join ACPU directly. Ms. Dorozinsky also announced a strategic partnership with HealthCarePoint to provide new corporate members with access to HealthCarePoint’s popular buying club and PET-ABC® (HR management software) in addition to discounted access to HealthCarePoint’s TrainingCampus eLearning system.
"This is the start of a new era for ACPU," said Ms. Dorozinsky in her opening address. "This fits our mission of helping CPUs improve quality, safety and operational efficiency. Having access to HealthCarePoint’s purchasing club will allow even small CPUs to realize the buying power of much larger corporations. And HealthCarePoint’s HR and educational network will allow our new corporate members to achieve a higher level of efficiency and transparency in the critical area of employee clinical study compliance training."
"This important partnership enables us to help ACPU achieve its mission," says Al O. Pacino, HealthCarePoint President. "By eliminating the cost barriers to technology we are able to connect CPU sites with sponsors, CROs, and IRBs. Our partnership with ACPU allows CPUs to minimize redundancies and leverage a combined purchasing power to help the industry do what it does best: finding better cures for the benefit of humankind."
"ACPU’s new corporate membership is great news for Clinical Pharmacology Units," said Dr. William Smith, President of New Orleans Center for Clinical Research. "CPUs can now directly participate as ACPU members. The partnership with HealthCarePoint allows CPUs to save money on commonly used products and services. Access to HealthCarePoint’s HR management and training software will enable CPUs to improve their staff training and compliance programs."
