Chávez joins Explora Todo El Gusto Del Pork™ to celebrate the dishes, memories and traditions connecting Hispanic Gen Z and Millennials to their culture.
DES MOINES, Iowa, Sept. 17, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- What's the pork dish that tells your family's story?
The National Pork Board's (NPB) consumer brand Explora Todo El Gusto Del Pork™ is teaming up with Mexican American actor Paulina Chávez to invite Hispanic Gen Z and Millennial home cooks nationwide to share treasured family pork dishes and the stories and traditions behind them. Selected submissions may be prepared by Chávez and featured in a limited-edition collection launching this fall.
The initiative celebrates the role food plays in connecting families to their culture, memories and traditions while encouraging a new generation to carry those connections forward in their own way.
Known for her roles in Landman and Fate: The Winx Saga, Chávez is sharing her own connection to the flavors and traditions that shaped her family while encouraging others to do the same.
"Every family has a dish that instantly feels like home, and for so many of us, it starts with pork," said Chávez. "Whether it's your abuelita's pozole, your dad's carnitas or the dish that brings everyone together for the holidays, every pork dish tells a story. I can't wait to see the recipes and hear the memories behind them, because sharing them is how we preserve our culture, celebrate our traditions and pass our gustos y sabores on to the next generation."
A New Generation Keeping Family Traditions Alive
Hispanic Gen Z and Millennials make up nearly 40% of the nation's 68 million Hispanic population. According to a 2026 Spring MRI-Simmons report, 70% of Hispanic Gen Z consumers say it's important that their children continue their family's cultural traditions, while 74% of Hispanic consumers say cooking at home helps them connect with their cultural identity. Pork remains at the heart of many of those traditions, with 75% of Hispanic households preparing fresh pork at home, compared with 65% of non-Hispanic households.
"Food has a special way of connecting generations," said José de Jesús, Vice President of Market Growth at the National Pork Board. "Through this initiative, we're celebrating the role pork plays in the dishes and stories Hispanic families have shared across generations, while encouraging younger consumers to proudly carry those traditions forward and make them their own."
The initiative builds on Explora Todo El Gusto Del Pork™, which celebrates pork's flavor, versatility and cultural connections in Hispanic kitchens.
