(PRWEB) October 15, 2014 -- Actress and Anti-Bullying activist, Keta Meggett discusses her heartbreaking setback in high school and how she re-merged as the Founder and CEO of Team Bully Buster on Maria Menounos’ Black Hollywood Live Net- work.
Keta suffered a setback in high school when she was attacked and assaulted by a gang of girls. This incident hospitalized her for a week but fortified her resolve in dealing with the unpleasant aspects of life.
“I was bullied and I had to change schools and get on an accelerated program to just to get out of school because I had PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). I had to choose a bunch of electives just to get it over with and one of them was acting. The teacher gave me a monologue to go home with and practice and when I went in the next day I felt nothing better than the applause and cheer and just the love the class and teacher gave me. Apparently I was really good at it and at that point, I decided this is what I wanted to do.”
“This lead to me years later auditioning for a TV show called WOW Super Heroes and it’s a wresting show. Well, I had no wresting background but they trained me and they absolutely loved my story and so my character is Keta Rush The Bully Buster. I was talking to the director who said he really liked my story and that I needed to do something. ‘You have something magnificent and great and you can go and talk to people.’ So I went home, brain stormed and I came up with the Non-Profit, Team Bully Buster.”
Team Bully Buster is a platform that brings awareness to the Bullying issue that is currently plaguing society. It is a place where everyone can speak about Bullying, whether it’s a Celebrity, Athlete, Entertainer or You, in hopes to make a change through understanding and compassion.
In addition to acting and martial arts, Keta is a NIKE Influencer and has been an official spokes model for organizations like: Gatorade, Reebok, Hornitos Tequila and SOBE.
