Adolfson & Peterson Awarded Southlake Community Recreation Center
Richardson, Texas (PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- Adolfson & Peterson Construction was recently awarded a project with the City of Southlake to build a new community recreation center. The project award was confirmed by the city council on December 19th in a 6-0 vote in favor of selecting A&P as the General Contractor for this project.
"The City of Southlake is excited to work with Adolfson & Peterson Construction on the development of the new Southlake Community Recreation Center,” said Candice Edmondson, Deputy Director for the City of Southlake. “Though the City reviewed many proposals from qualified firms, Adolfson & Peterson Construction stood out in regards to their experience building similar multi-purpose recreation facilities and their familiarity with the community.”
The Southlake Community Recreation Center is a two-story, 105,200 SF building currently in design by
Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture. The project will be constructed in two phases.
Phase one will include a community events hall, senior center, multipurpose class/meeting rooms, club lounge, catering kitchen, lobby, and an outdoor amphitheater.
Phase two will include a recreation and aquatic center with the following spaces: lobby, child watch, early learning, indoor playground, gymnasium, indoor and outdoor synthetic turf training, elevated walk/jog track, locker rooms, family changing cabanas, party rooms, group fitness rooms, aerobic/dance studio, weights and fitness, indoor leisure pool, multipurpose class/meeting rooms, outdoor living spaces, administrative offices, and building support areas.

Adolfson & Peterson is known regionally as an expert in Aquatics and Recreation construction and is currently serving as the General Contractor on the City of Grapevine Community Activity Center, as well as on two aquatics projects in Frisco and Lewisville.
The Southlake Community Recreation Center is currently in preconstruction, with the groundbreaking for Phase 1 scheduled for August 2014.
