Advanced 360° Surveillance Technology Against Piracy and Paparazzi, Under the Spotlights at MYS 2018
MONACO (PRWEB) September 26, 2018 -- HGH Infrared Systems, the leading experts in Thermal Imaging & Infrared Technologies, are exhibiting at the 2018 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show, stand QL4. The company is a leader in maritime surveillance and self-protection of ships thanks to their advanced 360° infrared cameras ensuring real-time very long-distance surveillance.
Piracy keeps on growing every year, with attacks at sea or in port. If radars are used worldwide by Yacht owners to detect threats approaching their Yachts, those are not able to detect small boats used by pirates, such as RHIBs or jetskis.
The alternative solution is the innovative SPYNEL infrared sensor developed by HGH Infrared Systems. SPYNEL offers a pioneering thermal imaging technology covering very wide areas, day and night. At the Monaco Yacht Show, the company will offer demos of the 360° infrared sensor SPYNEL-X, the IRST with the highest resolution and detection range on the market. A super-yacht equipped with such a system is able to detect swimmers and paparazzi drones, but also pirates on a zodiac at up to 10 km.
The company developed five models of cameras, to be as close as possible to their clients’ needs: "Choosing the correct model for clients is not only driven by the required detection range, but also the nature of the target they need to detect. For instance, detecting a jet ski at 10km will not require the same camera as for that needed for detecting a ship at 2km. It’s also important to bear in mind that for drone detection, a camera with a wider vertical field of view is required. Customer needs are different and rapidly changing, so we try and make our cameras as customizable as possible".
