GREENVILLE, Ill., April 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Advancement Courses, a Wiley brand and leader in online K-12 professional development, today announced the renewal of their agreement with Greenville University (GU). Over the past three years, nearly ten thousand practicing teachers have completed Advancement Courses through GU as part of their ongoing professional learning. Building on this success, the expanded partnership will now allow Advancement Course learners to apply 6 credit hours towards the university's 30-hour, online Master of Arts in Education program. The cost of this joint degree will be $11,674.
Advancement Courses offers over 240 graduate and continuing education credit professional development courses in 19 different subject areas covering foundational topics and emerging trends in K-12 education. Through this partnership, educators will optimize the time that they already devote to professional development and apply it directly into a full degree pathway, tailored to their grade level, content area, or level of expertise.
"In addition to being practical, Advancement Courses are research-driven and rooted in over three decades of experience in learning and higher education," said Dr. Lisa Amundson, Dean of the School of Education at Greenville University. "Our partnership with Advancement Courses has provided significant professional development for educators and now through this joint degree, we will continue to keep transformative teachers in the classroom."
"We're proud to partner with Greenville to support the continuous learning and skills development for educators," said Todd Zipper, Co-President of Wiley Education Services and Learning House, a Wiley brand. "We know that there is no more important job in the world, and that for every teacher that we support there are dozens of kids who will benefit."
Greenville University's online MAE is a degree-eligible graduate program accredited in Illinois and by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation and is applicable in most states.
