TARPON SPRINGS, Fla., Jan. 9, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- AdventHealth North Pinellas, previously Florida Hospital North Pinellas, has named Michael Longley, MD, as Chief Medical Officer effective February 18. In this role, Dr. Longley will lead the development and execution of an integrated strategy to achieve quality, safety, and value for the hospital's patients. He will collaborate with team members on medical staff, administration, and other clinical departments and direct patient safety and satisfaction initiatives, standardization, medical staff governance, and regulatory affairs.

Dr. Longley is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician. He most recently served as an Emergency Physician and Managing Partner with US Acute Care Solutions, where he was responsible for clinical and business operations, and he provided oversight and executive level management of over 150 clinicians at 11 Emergency Departments. He also practiced emergency medicine at AdventHealth emergency departments throughout the West Florida Division, including AdventHealth North Pinellas, and served as the Chief of Staff at AdventHealth Wesley Chapel.
He serves on the Medical Control Board for Pasco County EMS, is a Fellow of American College of Emergency Physicians, and a Diplomat of American Academy of Emergency Medicine. He also frequently participates in community lectures and enjoys sharing his musical talents by performing at hospital fundraisers and at the local hospitals for patients and visitors.
