Aerospace Experts to Virtually Convene for SAE International’s First AeroTech Digital Summit

Two-day virtual experience will feature live and on-demand discussions on critical issues and latest technologies affecting the aerospace industry.

SAE International announced the aerospace community will come together virtually to collaborate for the first ever AeroTech® Digital Summit. On June 2-3, 2020, the AeroTech Digital Summit will serve as a critical platform for virtual attendees in different sectors of the aerospace industry to assemble and discuss the growing challenges in the evolving aerospace industry, especially during the current climate.

“While the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the in-person AeroTech event in March, SAE International quickly pivoted our approach to bring the event virtually so the aerospace industry can gather as a community and learn from the information being presented to address the most pressing challenges of today,” said Dave Weil, director of engineering events at SAE International. “As the aerospace industry has been upended due to COVID-19, it’s critical for the industry to continue to come together to solve problems and help the industry move forward.”

Virtual attendees will have access to more than six hours of live content, including keynote speakers, panel sessions and technology talks. In addition, more than 20 hours of pre-recorded, on-demand technical presentations in the areas of manufacturing, materials, flight engineering, urban air mobility, and safety, among others, will be available.

The 2020 AeroTech Digital Summit panelists and topics include:

  • Roei Ganzarski, CEO, magniX – Shaping the Culture of Aviation (Keynote Presentation)
  • Gene Holloway, CSO & EVP, Aerion Supersonic – “Green” Speed IS Possible
  • Karen Taminger, materials research engineer, NASA Langley Research Center – NASA High-Rate Aerostructures Technology Plans
  • Russell Thomas, research engineer, NASA – Noise Reduction Technology Implementation for a Quieter Subsonic Transport.

The digital summit will provide both high-level as well as technical level of detail to solve most of the common challenges ongoing in the aerospace industry regarding safety, aircraft performance, high-quality and efficient manufacturing and assembly, lightweight high-performance materials, and aircraft autonomy.
