NAPLES, Fla., July 10, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Aesthetic Surgery Center is pleased to welcome plastic surgeon Dr. William Ross to the practice on July 1st. Dr. Ross grew up in St. Louis and earned his undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Missouri. Following graduation, he worked in the Clinical Trials Unit at Mount Sinai Medical School in New York City before taking a job at the National Institutes of Health. His scientific work has been published in Nature Medicine, one of the most respected scientific journals in the world, as well as other several peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Dr. Ross went on to earn his medical degree at the Howard University College of Medicine. In addition to being elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society, he was awarded the Howard University Trustee Scholarship and the Academic Achievement award. In order to enhance his knowledge of the immune system and tissue healing, Dr. Ross completed a postdoctoral clinical research program in the Transplant Division at the University of Miami.
After medical school, Dr. Ross participated in an internship in Surgery at the University of Nevada. He then completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of South Carolina. Once his General Surgery residency came to an end, Dr. Ross went to the Medical College of Georgia to complete his fellowship in Plastic Surgery.
During this time, he learned how to expertly perform a wide range of plastic surgical procedures. In addition, he became interested in aesthetic surgery and wrote a paper on the use of fat transfer techniques to rejuvenate the face. He also learned to use fat transfer techniques to improve the look of the breasts, buttocks, and extremities.
Dr. Ross eventually moved to Charleston, West Virginia with his family so that he could work at the Charleston Area Medical Center, where he was recognized for his excellent performance and appointed several leadership roles. Some of these leadership roles included the Breast Program Leadership Committee, the Women & Children's Hospital Operating Room Committee and Clinical Initiatives Committee.
He is excited to bring his experience and skills to Naples and perform a variety of procedures at Aesthetic Surgery Center including facelifts, brow lifts, neck rejuvenation, and reconstruction of the nose, cheeks, and ears after cancer surgery. Dr. Ross has vast experience with breast enhancement, breast reconstruction, and body contouring and takes great pride in using traditional and cutting edge therapies to provide patients with the very best results.
