HOUSTON, May 31, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Since 2019, Rita Bautista, a Houston-based businesswoman who is the Afro-Latina Network CEO of Latina Podcasters, has been speaking to her generation, that of Latinx whose age range is from 25 to 44, through podcasts that resonate with them and their culture while creating a successful formula that connects them with national brands such as McDonald's, ABC, Chase, P&G, and Ulta Beauty.
"Major brands come to us and want to put their ads on our podcasts to reach their audiences," said Bautista. "What we do is curate authentic ads through the voices of our podcasters. Therefore, we serve as the connector for brands to the audience through our network of podcasts."
Bautista, whose company is a Latina and certified minority-owned and operated global podcast network group that has become a multimillion-dollar business, has been catching the attention of these brands with potential audience numbers, drawing in millions of listeners. The 40-plus podcasts attract over 5 million Instagram followers and over 2.5 million followers on combined social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
"What we do every day is connect the largest audience in the world through authentic voices that speak to different aspects of our Latinx community who live in different regions of the United States, Puerto Rico, and Mexico," said Bautista, whose experience includes serving on civic and nonprofit boards representing Latinx voices in education, government, business, and sports.
The network group, for example, targets listeners who reside in major U.S. cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Houston, San Diego, San Antonio, and Miami. The podcasts appear on the group's two subsidiaries: Latino Pods features shows geared for a male audience, and Latina Podcasters Network showcases programming for women. Some of the podcasts, which include bilingual shows, include "Angelicales," "Norteño 210," "Café con Pam," and "Debt-Free Latina."
The Latinx consumer group holds much financial power and social media savvy. According to Claritas' Hispanic Market Report, "Hispanics account for 23.4% of the total US Millennial population and 25.8% of the total Gen Z population." The report also said, "Hispanics are 41% more likely to connect with brands through social media, and they are using it for more than entertainment." They found that "for example, when looking at reasons why Hispanics visit social media, we see that they are 25% more likely to review products or services and Hispanic Millennials are 46% more likely."
Latinx podcasts are influential when it comes to spending on services and products. According to the Latino Podcast Listener Report 2022, "69% say they have gathered more information about a company or a product and 66% recommended a product to a friend or family member as a result of hearing a sponsorship or advertisement on a podcast they regularly listen to."
"With the growth of listeners and advertisers, I know that Latina Podcasters is filling an important need in providing Latinx listeners with information and cultura that speaks directly to them," Bautista said. "The network has a variety of award-winning programming such as comedy, entertainment, physical and mental health, finances, business, and personal development and presents hosts that give guests spaces to represent their historias."
