FRESNO, Calif., April 9, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Jain Irrigation, Inc., the world leader in irrigation technology announced today it signed an exclusive partnership with Agralogics, a leading provider of data infrastructure for the AgTech space. Together they launched a series of digital products supplying real-time, highly granular and accurate consumptive demand of water (crop Evapotranspiration, ETc) information to growers across California. Agralogics' data infrastructure platform (EOS – Enterprise Operating System) integrates satellite data, agronomic models and hyper-local weather measurements to compute ETc continuously. The result is a daily, precise observation of the ETc metric for each block/field calculated.
Through satellite and weather data, ETc can be calculated for any field anywhere in the world. Growers receive an annual water budget based on 5-years of historical data for their fields and a weekly ETc report for each field. Accurate and timely ETc information helps optimize yields while reducing water and labor costs. Grower's benefit from the data and insights in three key ways:
1. A fundamental metric to significantly enhance irrigation management practices, allowing growers to maximize "more crop per drop."
2. The statistics to quantify the crop vigor and uniformity (ETc uniformity), enabling growers to identify and address field variations and problem spots within larger blocks.
3. A quantifiable measure to meet new water compliance requirements such as the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act.
The products released April 1, 2019, have an initial focus on California; however, the two companies are planning to leverage Agralogics' globally scaled platform and Jain's broad US distribution network to expand to other Ag-intensive states. The product is offered with the Jain Logic irrigation management system or as a stand-alone report delivered through a weekly email.
