Airforwarders Association Announces Appointment of Doug Brittin as Senior Advisor
Former TIACA Secretary-General and TSA Air Cargo Division Director to support legislative and policy priorities for AfA membership
WASHINGTON, Sept. 27, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Airforwarders Association announced today the appointment of Douglas Brittin, former Secretary-General of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), as Senior Advisor to the organization beginning October 1, 2021.
As a Senior Advisor, Brittin's primary objective will be providing insight, guidance, and support regarding TSA Policy issues. He will also advise the association on the latest regulatory and legislative matters as they pertain to AfA members and the industries they represent.
Brittin has more than 40 years of experience in the transportation and logistics industries. He has served in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Air Cargo Office, where he led the development of the Certified Cargo Screening Standard Security Program (CCSSSP) and new screening technologies, as well as carrier and freight forwarder programs. He also directed global air cargo security policy, vulnerability and risk assessments, and industry engagement programs. Throughout his career, Brittin has consistently advocated for the transportation industry with a broad range of security and customs regulatory organizations including the UN's International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the World Customs Organization (WCO), the TSA, and the European Union.
