ASB streamlines site deployment for Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). The new offering complements the company's Provisioning Manager solution, which enables automation to simplify the provisioning of CUCM to end users.

"Typically, before adding users at a new site, it is necessary to configure device pools, partitions, CSS, route patterns and so forth—work known as Day 1 provisioning." Using a wizard-driven interface, Cisco telephony engineers can configure new sites without having to rebuild preferences every time they add a new CUCM location. The solution reduces the need for external professional services providers. With ASB, CUCM installers don't need to have specialized Cisco skills either. Early experience shows that site setup with ASB takes minutes. Once engineers have configured the site and dial plan, they are able to templatize the details for use in other locations.
Site Builder takes a process that is complex and maybe not done very often and makes it simple and repeatable. The solution includes pre-built templates to get started. Templates, which can be customized, include all the necessary configurations that make it possible to conform new or existing CUCM sites to established standards. Furthermore, you can maintain multiple dial plan types and can even import or export templates to different CUCM instances.
