Understand the Assessment and Recovery Plan for Kentucky Tornado Outbreak from the All Hands and Hearts Disaster Experts
International disaster relief organization, All Hands and Hearts (AHAH), has deployed a Disaster Assessment and Response Team (DART) to the affected Kentucky region to assess the extent of damage caused by the tornado outbreak that has affected six southern states. This week, AHAH will have boots on the ground and will continue to push toward the worst-affected areas to understand the immediate needs of those affected.
Following a series of tornadoes that ripped through homes, businesses, and entire towns, hundreds of people are still missing, and dozens are presumed dead. Meanwhile, Kentucky's governor described the tornado as "the most severe and deadly tornado event in Kentucky history".
AHAH has a long history of supporting disaster hit communities and is able to leverage its experience to quickly aid communities impacted by the tornadoes. The All Hands and Hearts mission necessitates both a quick response to natural disasters and a long-term commitment to assisting communities in rebuilding sustainably.

A team of AHAH disaster relief specialists is talking to alumni and staff who are in the affected area and will coordinate with local, regional, and federal authorities to ascertain where AHAH's impact can be greatest and then get to work.
All Hands and Hearts is in contact with partners and agencies in the tornado path and welcomes any opportunity to collaborate.
