All-Star, Series MVP George Springer Partners with Axe Bat
RENTON, Wash. (PRWEB) December 14, 2017 -- Axe Bat today announced a partnership with All-Star outfielder George Springer, whose use of an Axe Handle bat this season coincided with a career offensive year and helped propel Houston to a world championship.
Springer, whose energy and raw power make him one of the game’s most exciting players, switched to an Axe Handle bat exclusively in August 2016. This year, in his first full season swinging the new style, he posted career-best totals for home runs (34), RBI (85), batting average (.283), slugging percentage (.522), and on-base plus slugging (.889).
His five home runs in the final seven-game series – including four in the last four games – earned Springer series MVP honors and secured Houston its first world title.
Springer joins Boston All-Star Mookie Betts on Axe Bat’s roster of Big League advisers. Like Betts, he will provide feedback on new Axe Handle designs and have input on the development process, including his own bat line.
