Alleged Drunk Driver Crashes DMV Hearing – Literally
San Bernadino, CA (PRWEB) October 25, 2013 -- A man who police say was allegedly drunk crashed his car into the doors of the local DMV office last month reported ABC News.
The man knocked over signs in the parking lot and then crashed his car through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors of the entrance, according to ABC News(09.15.2013). California Highway Patrol said the man could face DUI and felony vandalism charges.
“In California, any driver charged with DUI needs to request a hearing to try to keep their driver's license,” Knox said. “That hearing is held at the DMV.”
Knox is one of the San Bernardino DUI lawyers who founded Milligan, Beswick, Levine & Knox. His firm works extensively on drunk driving cases.
“When MBLK works with an alleged drunk driver, we will arrange the hearing for you,” Knox said. “You do not need to drive through the DMV doors to schedule it.”
ABC News stated that Highway Patrol officials said the man was “agitated” as well as drunk, but did not give details.
Knox said that in addition to endangering lives, ramming the DMV office made the man's own legal situation much worse.
