MOUNT RAINIER, Md., April 11, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Alley Cat Rescue (ACR) is encouraging all individuals and groups who are involved with TNR and/or caretaking of community cats to fill out a new Community Cat Survey, which can be accessed at this link: https://forms.gle/r5HJbZhabXfPCXAdA
This survey is part of ACR's efforts to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the current state of trap-neuter-return (TNR) programs across the United States, as well as identify key struggles faced by those who practice TNR. ACR conducted similar surveys in 2012, 2016, and 2019 and believes the data collected from this latest survey will, particularly when compared with data from the previous three surveys, provide up-to-date evidence of the efficacy of TNR in managing community cat overpopulation and health. ACR also expects the survey data to reveal some regions where caretakers and trappers experience the greatest challenges, and give insight into the root causes of those challenges.
ACR founder and president, Louise Holton explains, "We have come a long way since I started on this mission to promote TNR in 1990. Back then there were only a handful of forward-thinking groups and individuals working on implementing TNR in America. Today ACR has found nearly 6,000 and we are always working to identify more."
ACR will close the survey in October 2023 and publish their findings in a report that will be made available on the ACR website, among other places. All survey participants will be kept completely confidential.
