Alliance Healthcare Foundation Launches Health Awareness Series to Engage Community
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) February 16, 2016 -- Alliance Healthcare Foundation (AHF), a nonprofit organization which works to advance health and wellness for the poor and underserved in the San Diego and Imperial Counties, recently unveiled iEngageU, a multi-faceted community health awareness series designed to engage community leaders and the public at large.
Comprised of town-hall-style iEngageU forums, exclusive AHF grantee benefit events, internal AHF iNservice meetups, and the Funding Innovation Forum, the iEngageU series employs multiple strategies in engaging AHF grantees, community leaders, and the interested public.
“iEngage U is the next step in bringing information and research about the region’s most critical health-and-wellness related issues to light,” said AHF Executive Director Nancy Sasaki. “The series will actively engage community leaders and the public, offering multiple viewpoints to discuss the latest findings and best practices in these areas.”
AHF awards over $3 million annually to organizations in the San Diego and Imperial Counties which advance health and wellness and provides resources and/or services to the community’s underserved through its various funding programs.
Now, with iEngageU, AHF takes the impact of its grants a step further, offering a community-based series to engage both thought leaders and the public in learning about the latest findings/results, best practices, and lessons learned in order to sustain what works.
TheiEngageU forums, which are open to the public, will take place throughout 2016, beginning Feb. 25 and ending in December. The first forum will highlight the latest findings on the status of Health Literacy in San Diego County.
The iEngageU Funding Innovation Forum, which announces the beginning of the AHF Innovation Initiative (I2) award cycle, takes place April 6 at the UCSD Sanford Consortium – Duane. J. Roth Auditorium. This event is also open to the public, with a focus placed upon those organizations interested in applying for the $1 million award.
