Althea, Member of Girl Pow-R, Covers Ali Gatie's "It's You" at Christmas Gala

TORONTO, Feb. 8, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Althea, one of the members of the superstar all-girl pop-rock group Girl Pow-R recently performed a cover of the song "It's You" by Ali Gatie at a Christmas Gala hosted by MH Productions.

"I picked this song because it has a good message towards relationships," said Althea. "This song is about being vulnerable and trying not to let the fear of heartbreak overcome the joy of love."

Althea wanted to spread the loving message of the song through her recent cover.

"It's important that people show love and spread joy, not hate and negativity," said Althea. "This song is a good example of positivity and love, especially during the holidays and towards the New Year."

Girl Pow-R is an all-girl pop-rock band formed in 2017 on International Women's Day. The group has performed more than 200 shows since forming, and recently performed in the Boys of Summer Tour in the United States in Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York and Boston.

Each member of the group focuses on their own social causes like feeding the homeless, children's hospitals and youth safety. Girl Pow-R's goal is to empower young girls to follow their dreams and achieve their goals by working together and supporting each other.
