Altman Vilandrie & Company Promotes Devitt, Grudzien, Pierce, and Rezaei to Principal

Leading Telecommunications, Media and Technology strategy consulting firm Altman Vilandrie & Company has promoted four to Principal: Chris Devitt, Mat Grudzien, Kemper Pierce, and Madison Rezaei. Devitt focuses on broadband, wireless, network infrastructure, and IT services. Grudzien is an expert on the managed telecom infrastructure part of the IT stack, with a focus on fiber connectivity, data center and cloud computing infrastructure. Pierce concentrates on core wireless, fiber, and data center infrastructure across developed and emerging markets. Rezaei, who co-leads Altman Vilandrie & Company's pro-bono practice, has deep content expertise in the wireless and wireline industries, managed IT, and cybersecurity.

Altman Vilandrie & Company, a leading strategy consulting firm focused on the communications, media, and related technology sectors, has promoted Chris Devitt, Mat Grudzien, Kemper Pierce, and Madison Rezaei to the position of Principal. The new principals advise the firm’s Telecommunications, Media, and Technology (TMT) sector and private equity clients on a range of business strategy issues.

Devitt joined Altman Vilandrie & Company in 2015 and is based in Chicago. Prior to joining the firm, he consulted for primarily TMT and Energy sector clients in Accenture’s wireless & network technology practice. At Altman Vilandrie & Company, Devitt’s strategy work has focused on new product development, go-to-market strategy, competitive analysis, and M&A. Devitt’s experience spans a wide range of telecom, media, and technology sectors with a focus on broadband, wireless, network infrastructure, enterprise software, and IT services.

Devitt earned his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

Grudzien joined the firm in 2014 and is an expert on the managed telecom infrastructure part of the IT stack, with a focus on fiber connectivity, data center and cloud computing infrastructure. He advises telcos and cable operators, independent fiber providers, colocation/cloud providers, and other IT providers across a variety of topics, including new market entry and capital deployment, product strategy, pricing and offer structure, sales and channel optimization, M&A, and integration. Additionally, Grudzien works with investors across all stages of the investment cycle to identify attractive markets and investment opportunities, shortlist and evaluate specific targets, integrate assets, and advise on longer term performance.

Prior to Altman Vilandrie & Company, Grudzien managed a data science team at a startup incubator in in Cambridge, MA. He graduated from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics.

Pierce joined the firm in 2013 and is based in the Boston headquarters. Prior to Altman Vilandrie & Company, he led corporate development and M&A efforts for a venture-backed education technology platform and worked at a middle-market private equity firm sourcing and executing investments in technology, telecom, and business services. He advises operating clients across telecom, media and technology in strategy, marketing, sales, and M&A, and investors in due diligences. Pierce is an expert in the telecommunications and technology space, with a focus on core wireless, fiber, and data center infrastructure across both developed and emerging markets.

Pierce holds an A.B. in American History & Foreign Policy from Dartmouth College.

Rezaei joined Altman Vilandrie & Company in 2012 and is based in the firm’s San Francisco office. She has deep content expertise in the wireless and wireline industries, in addition to a large body of work in managed IT and cybersecurity. Rezaei primarily advises tech and telco clients on growth strategy and turnarounds, often including M&A elements - from strategy generation through to the integration process. She also regularly supports financial clients with both due diligence of specific targets and macro industry forecasts.

Within Altman Vilandrie & Company, Rezaei serves on the steering committee of the Women in Technology organization and co-leads the firm’s Pro Bono Practice.

Rezaei earned her B.A. in History and Economics from Dartmouth College and her M.B.A. from The Wharton School.
