America Haunts Identifies Cutting Edge as one of America's Most Innovative Haunted Houses
Cutting Edge Haunted House, one of the most feared dark attractions in Fort Worth, Texas, has been chosen by America Haunts as one of the most innovative haunted houses in America. The house is located in a 100-year-old abandoned meat packing plant, and the visitors encounter spine chilling experiences straight out the deadliest of horror films.
DALLAS, Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Cutting Edge is pleased to reveal that America Haunts has recently chosen this iconic haunted attraction amongst the most innovative haunted houses in America. Started in 1991, Cutting Edge Haunted House was built on a century old meat packaging plant that has been abandoned long ago. The building is located in a region of Fort Worth historically referred to as "Hell's Half Acre." America Haunts is a fear entertainment group comprising of some of the most successful and well known Halloween haunted houses around the world.
At present, Cutting Edge is a two-story human processing area where meat packing equipment from the Old West is still in use. The most dreaded attractions of the building are its realistic looking human mannequins that are hoisted up to the second level and brought through the entire meat packing process. Finally, the butchered corpses are brought back to the first level via a conveyor system. The house features numerous live sets, scary animations, and dozens of live actors both inside and outside the building. Exploration of the entire house takes about 45 to 55 minutes for an average visitor.
With 235,000 square feet of thrills and chills, the horror starts as soon as the visitors enter the parking lot, and doesn't stop until they reach home, safe and sound. These experiences include being chased by a devilish horned clown, coming face to face with a lunatic surgeon hovering over an operating table or chainsaw-wielding psychopaths, dark hallways infested with blood sucking bats, and much more. In many instances, visitors have been found running out of the building panting, screaming, and covered in soapy bubbles.
Receiving awards and accolades is nothing new for Cutting Edge Haunted House. In 2009, this haunted house earned the Guinness World Record title for the Longest Walk-through Horror House. Cutting Edge was again awarded Guinness Records in 2015, for both the longest and largest haunted house. Over the years, this popular attraction has also featured in Travel Channel, Wall Street Journal, and the Dallas Morning News.
The owner and founder of Cutting Edge, Todd James is a retired high school teacher operating multiple horror entertainment sites alongside his friends and family.
"Hell's Half Acre was named back in the days of cowboys and gunslingers; it was so called because of the nature of what went on in the saloons and in the streets: lots of gambling, gunfights, mayhem and debauchery," Todd says. "So, when we found the abandoned meatpacking plant in that part of town, we knew it would make the perfect haunted house."
Cutting Edge has already opened its doors for the Halloween season 2018, and the first show on September 29 has received a great response from the audience. The detailed schedule is now available in their website.
