America is not divided on one issue--Christmas Trees Continue to Increase Their Festive Hold on the Holiday Season
95 Million U.S. Households Will Display a Christmas Tree, According to the American Christmas Tree Association
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 20, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- There is no debate. America's love for the Christmas tree has not waivered and, in fact, has grown as Christmas trees take not only the center stage in the home for the holidays, but also as displaying multiple trees and trees of different sizes, shapes and colors become an integral part of Christmas holiday traditions.
Data compiled from 2014 to 2018 on behalf of the American Christmas Tree Association (ACTA) by Nielsen show the number of Christmas trees displayed in American homes has steadily increased.
Ninety-five million U.S. households are predicted to display a Christmas tree this season, 21 percent of which will display more than one tree.
"Americans are incorporating more Christmas trees into their holiday celebration than ever before," said Jami Warner, Executive Director of ACTA. "The number of U.S. households displaying more than one Christmas tree has gone up 10 percent over the last five years," she said. "Overall, 16 percent of all American households display more than one Christmas tree," added Warner.
A new SurveyMonkey/American Christmas Tree Association poll showed that eighty-two percent of respondents believe the Christmas tree is their most important holiday symbol and seventy-four percent said decorating the Christmas tree with the family is their most important holiday activity.
"From the National Christmas Tree outside The White House to 95 million American homes, Christmas trees continue to bring families together to celebrate their holiday traditions," said Warner.
