America Rolls Strong Truck Parade Celebrates National Truck Driver Appreciation Week

Celebration recognizes National Truck Driver Appreciation Week and commemorates the 20th anniversary of 9/11

Cargo Transporters, Inc., an asset-based regional and national carrier, along with the support of the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA), has hosted the inaugural America Rolls Strong Truck Parade. The event celebrates National Truck Driver Appreciation Week and commemorates the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Held here in Claremont, North Carolina, the America Rolls Strong Truck Parade featured a 30-truck convoy from local and national trucking companies in the region along with first responder vehicles.

The inaugural parade is just one of the new initiatives under #TruckloadStrong, a TCA iniative focused on elevating the image of the truckload segment of the trucking industry. The comprehensive program launched earlier this year aims to spread the word about the outstanding people and programs across the truckload segment of the industry by focusing on safety, the growing use of advanced technology, the essential role that carriers and drivers play, and their daily acts of heroism and goodwill.

The America Rolls Strong Truck Parade included special patriotic Ride of Pride trucks. The Ride of Pride program was founded in 2002 by Ed Keeter, a Vietnam War veteran and former shift manager at Freightliner's Cleveland Truck Manufacturing Plant in North Carolina, as a way to recognize military veterans. Every year, Freightliner Trucks awards new Ride of Pride trucks to different trucking companies. In 2019, Cargo Transporters received a Ride of Pride tractor dedicated to Medal of Honor and Purple Heart recipients.

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week is being held this year from September 12-18. The annual event recognizes and thanks the industry's 3.6 million professional truck drivers who are responsible for delivering America's most essential goods.
