Our Foster Kitten Emma was abandoned on the side of the road in her carrier when someone found her and brought her to the Branford Compassion Club cat shelter in Branford CT. She was soaked in urine and the white fur on her tummy and back legs were stained yellow. It's unthinkable to imagine what kind of person would abandon a kitten in this way. Then fate stepped in once again and brought Baby Emma into our home. Sandy is so thrilled to have a baby sister. Unfortunately, Kitten Emma suffers from a life-threatening birth defect that requires immediate surgery. Sweet baby Emma needs one of her kidneys to be removed as it is swollen from urine backing up due to the tube that runs from the kidney to the bladder being totally blocked. She also needs reconstructive surgery to her bladder. This is a very rare and highly specialized surgery, which is very costly.
