IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Patient Safety Movement Foundation is happy to announce that the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and the European Society of Anaesthesiology (ESA) will co-convene the upcoming 7th Annual World Patient Safety, Science and Technology Summit, held in Huntington Beach, California, January 18-19, 2019.
The 2019 World Summit brings together leading medical experts, healthcare technology CEOs, global leaders and patient advocates from around the world to discuss challenges, innovative new programs and best practices to eliminate preventable patient deaths in hospitals. More than 4,500 hospitals from 44 countries across the globe have made commitments to the Patient Safety Movement Foundation and implemented evidence-based Actionable Patient Safety Solutions (APSS), saving more than 81,533 lives last year alone.

The ASA and ESA are leading organizations representing anesthesia, critical care, pain and perioperative medicine in the United States and Europe. The ESA's work on the 2010 ESA-EBA Helsinki Declaration on Patient Safety in Anaesthesiology has been widely recognized globally as a practical framework for improving perioperative patient safety, and was signed by all European national anaesthesiologist societies and endorsed by many international societies.
