American Physician Partners Appoints Dennis Deruelle, MD, FHM as Executive Director of Hospital Medicine
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (PRWEB) September 25, 2018 -- American Physician Partners, LLC (“American Physician Partners” or “APP”), a leader in emergency medicine and hospital medicine management services, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dennis Deruelle, MD, FHM as Executive Director of Hospital Medicine. In this role, Dr. Deruelle will be responsible for supporting the management of the company’s quickly growing hospital medicine program and providing clinical oversight to APP’s hospital medicine physicians and advanced practice clinicians in support of the company’s ongoing quality efforts.
Dr. Deruelle has more than 15 years of hospital medicine leadership experience, having served as the owner of a private hospital medicine practice and CEO/Founder of a boutique healthcare consulting company. He then served as National Director of Innovation and. National Medical Director for IPC, The Hospitalist Company and as Vice President and National Medical Director of BPCI services for TeamHealth, where he led the company’s Bundled Payment for Care Improvement (BPCI) efforts.
Recognized as a national expert on The Affordable Care Act (ACA), Dr. Deruelle has been featured on a number of national television and radio talk shows, in newspapers and medical journals, and at national healthcare conferences. He also recently published his second book, “Your Healthcare Playbook: Winning the Game of Modern Medicine,” published by Savio Republic. In addition to his healthcare achievements, he is also a professional singer-songwriter.
Dr. Deruelle received his Medical Degree at Albany Medical College in Albany, New York; served as an Internal Medicine Intern, an Internal Medicine Resident, an Infectious Disease Fellow, and Internal Medicine Chief Resident at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; and completed a Fellowship Program for Hospital Leaders at the University of California at San Francisco. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the Society of Hospital Medicine.
