Ticketed festival starring St. Paul & The Broken Bones, free concerts, book signing and more April 27-30
DECATUR, Ga., April 20, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Amplify My Community, organizer of the Amplify Decatur Music Festival, announced today it will be expanding this year's event to four days of musical events taking place April 27-30 on and near the Decatur Square.
The signature Amplify Decatur Music Festival ticketed event highlights the weekend. It takes place at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29 on the Decatur Square. The line-up features St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Patty Griffin, James McMurtry, and more.
Additionally, an evening of free concerts takes place Friday, April 29. The Dirty Doors: A Tribute to The Doors and folk rock band Ghoststories perform at the bandstand on the Decatur Square. Simultaneously, an array of other performers will be playing free shows at venues near the Decatur Square, including Leon's Full Service, Brick Store Pub, and Mellow Mushroom Pizza.
The Amplify Decatur Music Festival series is presented by Lenz and produced in partnership with Eddie's Attic. Proceeds will be directed to Decatur Cooperative Ministry (DCM), Decatur Education Foundation (DEF), and Giving Kitchen to aid their vital missions. The 2022 festival weekend featured Ben Harper, Old Crow Medicine Show, Son Volt, and The War & Treaty, and raised $50,000 for DCM.

An Evening With Kevin Griffin of Better Than Ezra
Little Shop of Stories presents a conversation with the award-winning songwriter from Better Than Ezra, who will talk about his new book "The Greatest Song: Spark Creativity, Ignite Your Creativity, and Transform Your Life."

Decatur Cooperative Ministry's mission is to help families facing homelessness settle into safe, stable homes and build healthy lives filled with peace, hope, and opportunity. Founded in 1969, Decatur Cooperative Ministry (DCM) offers transitional housing, shelter, homelessness prevention, rapid re-housing, and permanent supportive housing programs. DMC's programs span the entire spectrum of currently recognized homelessness interventions. To accomplish this, DCM partners with 35 congregations from 14 denominations as well as private foundations, universities and schools, government agencies, community groups, and local businesses.
Decatur Education Foundation works together with the City Schools of Decatur, Decatur Housing Authority, and City of Decatur to bolster community efforts and ensure that ALL students have the resources, opportunities, and experiences in order to foster their growth and ensure their academic success.
Giving Kitchen provides emergency assistance for food service workers through financial support and a network of community resources.
