BLANCO, Texas, Nov. 18, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Andalusia Whiskey Co released the first-ever bottled in bond Texas whiskey produced grain to glass in the Lone Star State. Why is this a big deal?
The bottled in bond act of 1897 was created to guarantee the quality of whiskey in a time when you never knew what you would get. The bottled in bond label still represents quality and requires the strictest standards for distillation.
To be bottled in bond, the whiskey must meet all of the qualifications for its category plus be distilled by one distillery, in one season, by one master distiller. Then aged in new charred oak barrels for at least four years in a bonded warehouse and bottled at 100 proof.
"Quality and authenticity have been our focus from day one," said Co-Founder Ty Phelps. "We always knew we wanted to create a bottle in bond whiskey because it represented quality," he continued.
"The Texas Whiskey industry has seen amazing growth in both the number of distillers and quality of products. So it is important to us that we create something we are proud to share with people," said Co-Founder Tommy Erwin.
The Andalusia Whiskey Co. Bottled in Bond Single Malt is 100% malted barley double distilled in their copper pot still, aged four years in new 53-gallon #4 char oak barrels Described as a bourbon lover single malt, no smoke with flavors of chocolate, dark cherries, vanilla, oak, leather, malt.
